The Ibanez JSM100 is a Japan-made semi-hollow built around John Scofield’s personal 1981 Ibanez AS200, with every dimension of that guitar measured and carried over into this model. The figured anigre body pairs with an internal centerblock engineered to resist feedback, so this guitar handles louder live situations where a fully hollow instrument would break up. The set-in African mahogany neck carries a 24.7″ scale and a bound ebony fingerboard with a compound radius that flattens from 184mm to 250mm as you move toward the upper frets, supporting clean chord voicings in lower positions and easier bending up the neck.
Dual Super 58 humbuckers are PAF-voiced Alnico pickups – warm and articulate on clean settings, with enough definition for lead work – and the ebony board adds tighter low-end and a cleaner high-end attack. The Gotoh 510BN bridge and GE101A tailpiece handle intonation and sustain with hardware Ibanez has paired consistently with this model. This pre-owned example is in very good condition, with light scratches on the pickguard and body.
