The Fender Gold Foil Telecaster is a mahogany-bodied, mini-humbucker-equipped Telecaster built for players who want the Tele platform without single-coil hum. Where a standard Telecaster uses alder or ash, the mahogany body shifts the voice toward punchier mids and fuller lows while retaining Telecaster twang at the bridge. The dual Gold Foil Mini-Humbuckers use Alnico V magnets in a hum-cancelling configuration, delivering a clear, articulate bridge pickup and a warmer, fuller neck pickup-not the jangly ferrite-magnet sound of vintage Teisco or Harmony instruments, so set expectations accordingly.
The ebony fingerboard sits at a 12″ radius-flatter than most Fenders and closer to Gibson territory-paired with a satin maple neck in a ’60s C profile, which makes this a comfortable crossover option for players more accustomed to Gibson-style necks. Scale length is standard Fender at 25.5″. The 3-saddle cut-off vintage bridge supports both top-load and through-body stringing, keeping the setup options familiar. Controls are straightforward: master volume, master tone, and a 3-position blade selector. This pre-owned example is in very good condition with some pickguard scratches and no case candy, and it ships with a gigbag.
